Expertadvies

Beware of unsolicited calls from unfamiliar numbers, especially those pretending to be from your mobile provider. These reports highlight a pattern of scammers impersonating EE or Three, armed with personal details to seem legit, but pushing for card payments under false pretexts like discounts or gifts. Hang up immediately if they ask for financial info or verification payments – that's a massive red flag. Contact your real provider directly using official numbers from their website or app to check anything. Block the number, report to Action Fraud, and enable spam filters on your phone for added protection. Stay vigilant to avoid data theft or fraud.

441676217823 Hinderlijke oproep Three Network (claimed)

They pretended to be from Three Network wanting to discuss my account, yet couldn’t confirm my name or any details – a dodgy Indian call centre.

441676217823 Oplichting

The number 01676217823 rang my Three mobile. I avoid answering unknown callers; Three flagged it as potential spam. No voicemail was left – clearly a phishing attempt. Marked as ignore.

441676217823 Telemarketing

I got a ring on my EE mobile at 15:35 on Wednesday 4 June from an unknown Meriden number; no voicemail was left, so I ignored it – classic cold‑call.

441676217823 Oplichting EE Promotions (scam)

I received a call on my EE mobile from someone claiming to be from EE Promotions, offering a discount on my monthly mobile and broadband bills plus a free smartwatch. They already knew my name, address, DOB, EE account number, direct debit and bank details. The emails and texts they sent during the call looked official. They asked to take £50 from my debit card, hold it for 24 hours, then refund it after I received the gift, which they said would arrive the next day. After the call I phoned EE to verify, and they confirmed it was not them – a very convincing scam. Please stay vigilant.
