Expertomdöme
Approach calls from unknown numbers with utmost caution, especially those claiming ties to energy providers. These reports highlight repeated attempts by fraudsters impersonating companies like British Gas or E.ON to extract personal details under false pretences of contract renewals or meter issues. Silent calls and no messages are common tactics to prompt callbacks. Always verify the caller independently by contacting the official company directly using details from your bill, never through numbers provided by the caller. Hang up immediately if pressured or if the accent and details seem off—scammers often use aggressive persistence. Block the number and report to Action Fraud to help curb these nuisances. Protecting your data starts with not engaging.

Posing as EON reps requesting info to renew my electricity contract, they turned out to be fraudsters – I’d already renewed it myself. Supposedly a Dave from Delhi.
