Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust call explained! - +44 161 701 9999 (0161 701 9999)
Sumar — +441617019999
Opinia expertului
Oddly enough, a number that looks unfamiliar often belongs to a legitimate NHS hospital calling about appointments or test results. Most callers report that the line is used by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust for callbacks to patients or relatives, and the majority describe the experience as safe. When you receive such a call, let the voicemail speak first – genuine messages usually mention the department and a reference number. If you’re unsure, hang up and dial the hospital’s official switchboard to confirm. Never share personal details until you have verified the caller’s identity, and consider blocking numbers that repeatedly avoid verification.

Despite being marked as safe, I'm experiencing suspicious activity, including remote access interference, which is preventing me from receiving hospital calls

Be cautious with this number too
This number is associated with an NHS MRI hospital.
This number called me yesterday. When I rang back, an automated message mentioned the University of Manchester NHS Foundation Trust. It advised answering if they called again.
This number is not a scam, its MFT NHS trust, covering manchester royal infirmary, its a legit number.
I think it was the hospital ringing me, the number seems ok.
I received a follow-up call from the mobile lung scan team on this number
I didn't pick up, and they left no voicemail (0161 701 9999). However, my husband later contacted me to inform that his appointment had been rescheduled at Manchester Royal Infirmary. I suspect they tried reaching him first and then turned to me as his emergency contact. They must have attempted to reach him again, and he finally answered or received a message. Based on others' experiences, this seems like a legitimate contact.
Could you please provide information about the caller who rang me on 07554654255?
Following a missed call, a message claimed it was from a healthcare provider, promissing to ring back, but unfortunatly never did.
Scam alert
A call was received just after 10pm from someone claiming to be from the doctors, asking for my name despite presumably having access to that information already; when I questioned who they were trying to contact, they mentioned a name not associated with my household, apologised, and ended the call
The NHS Foundation trust left a voicemail stating they'd contact me again.
Following a callback from Manchester university hospital trust, I can confirm this is a genuine call, the doctor identified himself and was calling in regards to a letter I had recieved, rest asured this is a legit call
Legitimate NHS number. They contacted me today for a pre-arranged telephone consultation.
Having previously commented on this NHS scam, I decided to call again and found that the voicemail had been altered to mimic the NHS messaging service more closely. It's appalling that they're targeting people in this way.
After returning a missed call from this number, 01617019999, I was greeted by an answerphone message from a person claiming to be from the NHS, stating they would call back and asking me to answer my phone. However, I'm certain the NHS wouldn't leave such a message, so I'm blocking the number.
This number is used by Manchester University Foundation Trust hospitals (Manchester Royal Infirmary, Wythenshawe etc) to contact relatives of patients. It is a safe number. You can’t call them back on that number but they’ll usually try again. You can always dial the Hospital switchboard directly if necessary.
Two calls were made from this number, but no voicemail was left on either occasion
