Suspected fraud after hearing 'Hello, I'm Chris, your nearby energy consultant' – now blocked
Unsolicited Adviser Rings - Ignore? - +44 161 566 1744 (0161 566 1744)

Avis d’expert
Reports consistently flag unsolicited calls from this number as intrusive, with multiple instances intercepted by scam filters or blocked outright. Energy-related pitches dominate, often from callers posing as advisers like 'Jo' or 'Chris', probing about loft insulation or efficiency checks—classic hallmarks of cold sales tactics. Persistent ringing, even to answering machines, and quick hang-ups suggest automated dialling to gauge active lines. Data shows no legitimate basis for these contacts, especially for ex-directory users. Register with the Telephone Preference Service to curb such nuisances, report to 7726 for mobile spam, and notify Ofcom or Action Fraud if harassment persists; this helps track and disrupt these operations.

Just more market research nonsense! I'm on the ex-directory list and have been for over three decades with this number. I refuse to let it be sold through the electoral register and never consent to marketing use. Plus, I'm registered for the telephone and mail preference services. So how do they obtain my details, and maybe yours too? Via random auto-dialling bots. If you pick up and want no more, INSIST the agent deletes the number they dialled!
Dialled and terminated the call upon my response. How come these nuisances aren't blocked?
Jo, an energy efficiency consultant. Inquired about the last check on my loft insulation. Told her I wasn't keen and hung up.
Contacted me earlier – the call was snagged by my phone's fraud blocker – kudos to BT/EE.
Bloody hell, now they're on a different line—still, it'll get the same old ignoring treatment....
The call to this number got forwarded to my voicemail; they must've liked the greeting because they dialled back almost immediately

Unanswered call to my landline. Helpful tip from the last reporter on reporting frauds to authorities, but what's the process for landline-based scams?
Yep, absolute scam for sure.
