Couldn't make out the Indian lady's words, so I ended the call.

Proceed with caution if this number rings—nuisance callers often test lines before pushing their agenda. Reports highlight persistent tactics like silent calls, quick hang-ups, and aggressive pitches on slashing phone bills or TV insurance, typically from accents suggesting overseas operations despite a UK prefix. These nuiskeys prey on the unwary, ignoring hang-ups and redialling swiftly. Block the number immediately to avoid hassle, and never share personal details. Register with the Telephone Preference Service for fewer intrusions; if pressed, firmly end the call and report to authorities. Stay vigilant—vulnerable folks get targeted hardest.

Con! Rep claimed 50% off on call rates—told her it was a scam and rang off!
Landline rang early morning from 01582340509, short burst without voicemail. Clearly a scam and pest; this site (Who called me) identifies it as Luton-based TV insurance fraud via VOIP, though possibly anywhere in the UK. Many reports here of similar aggressive cold callers pushing billing contracts, leaving no messages. Best to ignore and block.
Aggressive fraudster attempting to convince me they could lower my phone bills.
Answered but kept mum, so they scarpered. Classic scam tell.
Female of Asian background offering to halve my fixed-line fees while retaining my BT line. Claimed affiliation with a comparison service.
Must be a con; I've got no business with that company
Got a silent call, which I suspect is from a fraudster.
FRAUD ALERT!!!!
Took the call, no words from them, just hung up, now blocked.
Voice with an Asian accent delivered fluent English, though with some pauses. Avoided giving their name. Initially inquired about landline activity. Tone was icy and unfriendly. Completely disregarded the dialogue, intent on extracting info from me. Later shifted to questions on PC use, but since I had no clue who it was, I refused to respond and ended the call. Watch out for this caller.
Picked up from an unknown number; a woman spoke, gave her name but nothing else. When I inquired about the purpose, she mentioned television, noting that my TV functions but... I cut her off, expressed disinterest, told her not to call again, and disconnected. They rang back almost immediately from the same line; I let it ring out to voicemail, but no message followed.
Picked up; when I asked their purpose, they hung up. Definitely a scam try
Called from Luton to a Leeds line, attempted to ring back after the bloke just said hello and disconnected, but the number instantly drops when redialling, likely targeting the elderly who aren't bold on pickup.
