Avis d’expert
Reports overwhelmingly highlight aggressive tactics mimicking debt recovery, with callers threatening asset seizures over fabricated council tax arrears. While a minority link the number to Bristow & Sutor, legitimate bailiffs, the volume of scam allegations—featuring demands for immediate payments and fake voicemails—suggests widespread impersonation. Victims often panic and nearly disclose details before verifying. Practical advice: Always hang up and contact your council directly to confirm debts; forward suspicious texts to 7726 for reporting; ignore unsolicited payment links to avoid fraud. Legitimate agencies won't threaten arrest over the phone—seek free advice from Citizens Advice instead.
