Always verify caller details before sharing any info. These calls often pretend to be from insurers like Direct Line or AXA, pushing life insurance or health scams with wrong names and noisy backgrounds. Hang up immediately on unsolicited offers—legit firms won't pressure you. Block the number and report to Action Fraud if it feels off. Wasting their time can be fun, but prioritise your security by registering with the Telephone Preference Service to cut down on nuisance calls. Stay vigilant against accents that don't match claimed UK origins.

That call was irritating – they messed up my name, clearly a scam, so I blocked them.
Someone dialed me, got my name wrong, pitched life insurance and asked how I was – not interested, thanks anyway.
A noisy background accompanied a caller claiming to be from Direct Line about life insurance. She stayed polite and backed off when I said I wasn’t interested.
A bloke named Kevin kept ringing me, his accent South African. When I asked to be removed, he turned condescending, then rude, and finally abusive – bloody annoying.
No answer – just a missed call, typical stuff, cheers.
They inquired about an AXA life policy I don’t possess, and after I kept them on for ten minutes, they grew visibly irritated.
I’m wondering whether that cheeky lady is employed by AXA and actually holds a personal policy.
They rang today but I didn’t answer. Thanks.
This afternoon at 14:25 on 18/07/2024, I got a call from 0151 329 3432. The operative had an Indian‑type accent and was quite pleasant. I mistakenly mentioned I was dealing with the new Covid variant. He asked about my medication, I said standard cold/flu meds, then warned about a dangerous flu virus and suggested I get a shot from my doctor – I reminded him I already had Covid and hung up. All of this while I was walking my dog, odd stuff!
Missed teh scam call and I've blocked it.
Someone tried pushing a policy I have zero interest in, mate – not having it.
It seems they somehow obtained my number, yet introduced themselves with a male title and part of a surname. The caller insisted I sounded male, asked to delete my contact, thanked me and hung up, but the line stayed open for another half‑minute amid a noisy call‑centre backdrop.
A call from 01513 293432 claimed to be about my life insurance. I told them I didn’t have a policy, they asked why, and I called their bluff by replying, 'You’re checking a policy I don’t own, so where did you get the details?' They hung up.
They're out here scamming the little ones, honestly – can’t believe it.
They’re clearly scamming; I received two back‑to‑back calls today, and last week they used a different number and area code. Absolutely dodgy.
Blocked yet another scam call 🚫.
When I picked up, the line was silent before a loud, fart‑like sound erupted, followed by a chorus of giggles that sounded like they were coming from an office.
An unknown caller flagged as suspected spam – I ignored it and blocked the number after spotting it here, proper move.
I pretended to be interested in a life‑insurance con, jokingly asking about upgrades. Spent about seven minutes of the bloke’s time before putting the call on speaker beside the office radio – proper laugh!
The voice sounded like a call centre; they wanted to speak to Aidan Walter, which isn’t me, and I told them that. After asking my name a few times, the caller finally hung up.
