Initially tried calling from a private number, which my phone doesn’t accept, but it still appeared in the call log. Then they called again without hiding their ID, and hung up as soon as I answered. Have now blocked the number, as I do with all cold calls and harassing numbers.
This is suspicious since my landline is ex-directory; unsure how they obtained my number.
I recieved two calls today, the first time they hung up when I answered, then they called back immidiately, saying they were calling about a 'service' I recieved in February, but they wouldnt give any more information, I was worried and hung up, I've since discovered that this must be a survey company, I'm horrified that the police have passed on my details
This was a Customer Survey about the Police. I hope they don't contact me, as I have little positive feedback about Essex Police. Their handling of a threat to my 3-year-old daughter, despite CCTV and witnesses, was appalling. It's clear the public's trust in the police is eroded, and justice seems unattainable through official channels.
This number is used by a market research company called SMSR. They conduct customer satisfaction surveys for the public sector. I’ve missed their calls because I’m usually at work when they ring, including today and last week.

I recived a call today whilst at work, regarding a survey for the police, it sounded genuin, but I dont have the time to participate in surveys.
This is SMSR Ltd from Hull. They reach out on behalf of police forces to gather feedback on local services. After receiving a call, I contacted their head office (0800 138 0845) and spoke with Lee, who provided detailed information and reassurance. To confirm, I also contacted 101 and was assured everything was legitimate.
Answered with caution, ready to end the call if they asked for sensitive information. Fortunately, the call was legitimate. The caller had all the details about the incident and asked straightforward questions related to police actions. If they had requested personal details, I would have hung up immediately.
