This mirrors previous reports: the caller alleged knowledge of a recent Motability vehicle collision and cited Direct Line insurance as a pretext, then disconnected when I asked about it.
Fraudsters pretended to be from Motability, inquired about a claim, and after I denied any claim they hung up; they sounded like a Liverpool accent, claimed Glasgow origin, now blocked.

Roughly fortnightly, I get a call from fraudsters claiming to represent Direct Line or Motability. They recite the same script each time, asking for details about a claim I supposedly filed. When I say I haven’t made any claim, they push for more personal information, so I now hang up and block the number. This latest call came from a Glasgow number, and the voice usually carries a Liverpudlian accent.
A call today claimed to be about a vehicle insurance claim, but I hadn't filed any, so I recognised it as a scam. Unlike typical scams from abroad, the caller spoke with a cheery northern English accent.
Beware of callers claiming to be from Motability and saying you've lodged a claim with Directline; they hang up when you refuse. Block the number!
The caller claimed it was about mobility and that I had logged a collision, then hung up when I said I didn't understand.
