This call was a 'debt recovery' scam, attempting to deceive me into paying a fake debt.
Scam alert: Opus debt collection harassment - +44 141 428 3990 (0141 428 3990)
Summary — +441414283990
Expert Opinion
Repeated complaints highlight a surge of calls from the number 0141 428 3990, repeatedly identified as Opus. Callers claim outstanding balances for utilities, water or electricity, yet often provide no specific account details and request personal data such as dates of birth. This pattern fits classic debt collection pressure tactics that can veer into harassment. Recipients should avoid sharing any information, immediately block the number, and lodge a complaint with the Telephone Preference Service and Ofcom. Verify any alleged debt directly with the supposed creditor using official contact channels, and keep a log of call times for evidence if further action is needed.

company leave voicemail every day, they dont know my name, scam or phishing
Despite blocking this number, the company still manages to leave voicemails every few days. They never mention my name, and if they state the company I allegedly owe money to, it's completely garbled (which is likely, as most of their messages are just mumbling). This seems to be a scam or phishing attempt.
Absolutely fed up with all these scam calls! 😡👎
After multiple calls from 01414283990, I've now blocked the number

Regarding debt collection
Not recomended, totaly rubbish
I can verify this is a debt collection agency. When I answered, I connected with someone immediately. They asked for Mr. Patel, to which I responded that they had the wrong number as he doesn’t live here. Apparently, Mr. Patel has given my number to Opus. They apologized and said they would remove my number from their system. So, it's not a scam; it's Mr. Patel who's scamming the companies.
This number constantly contacts me, claiming to have an urgent matter to discuss. However, I am aware that it is associated with a debt company, and since I have no debts, I am certain it is a scam. My financial record is clear, and I owe nothing to anyone.
Fraud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I recieved a recorded message about an urgent matter, but they didnt bother to specify what it was. They asked me to call back on 01414283990 and provided a suposed reference number, which I'm sure is fake. I've blocked the number along with several others like it, what a scam!
An automated voicemail was left, requesting a callback, but I chose to ignore it.
Relates to debts
The caller, who appears to be from a Scottish gas company, has a thick accent that is difficult to understand.
Enligt dem hade vår autogirobetalning stoppats och de samlade in pengar. Personen hade en kraftig skotsk accent. Jag har även anmält detta till Ofcom och TPS.
You're rubbish!🖕
Numerous calls and texts have been made to collect a debt that is not mine, which is extremely frustrating
They ring and leave messages on my answering machine.
My housemate received several texts stating, "This message is for *her name*, please contact Opus limited on *o1414283990* regarding reference *reference number* urgently. Thank you" and "Is this a bad time? I must speak with you urgently. Please call Opos on 0141 428 3990 quoting *same reference number*. Thankyou." She never shares her number online or with companies, so it's unclear how they got it.
I keep receiving text messages from them, asking me to call back with a provided reference number. They used to call me, trying to get my personal info without explaining the nature of the debt (which I don’t even have). They won’t tell me who the debt is owed to. For some reason, I can’t block their texts, and they keep coming every other week. The woman who called insisted we had to discuss “it” (whatever that means), but first, I’d have to provide my address, date of birth, and phone number. When I refused to discuss it, she kept pushing, saying I really had to. It’s madness! If they were genuine debt collectors, they’d contact HMRC or the local council to get my address and send a letter.
Opus debt collection agency contacting me regarding a bill. They were professional about it. Sorted it out quickly.
Spark energy has no affiliation with this company, which has been emailing me daily regarding a debt I dont actualy owe, I've blocked their number after they requested my date of birth.
A rude individual from this number claimed I owed Cashplus £153 and threatened that if it wasn't me, someone was committing fraud in my name; I requested written proof and was met with aggression and a hang-up
Received 12 calls from them last weekend, with disturbances on Saturday from 8am to 9pm and Sunday from 10am to 8pm. I have now blocked the number.
My credit record is clean and I'm vigilant about monitoring it. Despite this, I've been receiving unwarranted calls and texts, prompting me to investigate further. The messages instructed me to contact a different number, which I declined to do. I've never disclosed my personal details to anyone, making this situation even more suspicious. Given their alleged role as a debt collection agency, it's concerning that they may have access to my address. Following advice, I'll await formal correspondence from them, addressed to me, outlining the purpose of their communication.
My sixteen year old daughter recieved a call from a Scottish woman who asked for her personal details, which was very frightening, I've reported this incident to the police.
