The call pretended to be from the BBC, probing whether I was avoiding a licence by questioning my viewing habits.

Repeated missed calls and silent hangs point to a pattern of persistent outreach. Callers from market‑research firms often rely on high‑frequency dialing to reach a quota, which explains the multiple rings and brief silences. When a caller claims to be from a survey company like Ipsos, verify the legitimacy before sharing any personal data—look up the official number on the company's website or ask for a callback. If the call feels off‑script or pushes for financial info, hang up and block the number. Using call‑screening apps and the built‑in block feature can curb future interruptions, and never click unknown links left in voicemail messages.

In July 2025, I received calls on three successive days; I don't answer unknown numbers and finally blocked them after the third attempt.
I was contacted by someone claiming to be from Ipsos Mori; after a brief polite ending I blocked the number, yet it rang again the next day – this time the number was already blocked, so I advise steering clear of any calls from it.
Several calls came in this week that I ignored and have now blocked; they rang again at 03:20 today.
I was abroad when the call arrived, so my carrier couldn’t confirm if it was spam; I’ll delete and block it.
The caller was identified as a scammer.
I chose not to pick up because it was marked as a nuisance.
The call came from this number, but the person hung up immediately.
I've been getting daily calls from this number throughout the week; they're quite persistent. After checking here, I'll block it.
The callers said they were from EPOS/Mori Poll, wanting to ask about the Post Office and banks. I refused and hung up. It might be legitimate, but these days one has to stay vigilant.
The person on the line said they were from IPSOS MORI conducting a financial‑services survey. It felt like a scam trying to discover my banking details, so I hung up straight away after the call was answered. My provider has flagged it as a potential nuisance call.
When my landline rang I didn't pick up because the caller ID was unfamiliar, so I let the answering machine take over. The call dropped without a message. From other posts it appears to be a Mori Poll about banking, which I will not engage with.
They presented the call as a survey, which turned out to be a scam, so I blocked the number.
This number has rung at least six times in the past ten days without leaving a voicemail – very persistent.
A pre‑recorded voice asked for feedback, so I hung up.
A call arrived at 8:34 pm on 21/07/2025 from this number; given my ex‑directory status, it was clearly a scam, and I have blocked it.
Someone claimed to be from a MORI poll and asked a question. I mentioned we’re on the TPS register, but they said it didn’t apply since they weren’t selling anything. They asked if I’d answer some questions; I declined. This may be a phishing attempt for personal data.
I declined a survey request and thanked them, yet they keep dialing this number and its variants. 🚫
They presented the call as a banking survey; I feigned not hearing them and then terminated the call.
Seems to be a fraudulent scheme.
The caller was very impolite when I mentioned I wasn't interested, especially since I was expecting an important call.

Good experience reported
The caller, speaking with a Scottish accent, said he was an Ipsos‑Mori surveyor. I let him continue at first, but made clear I don’t discuss money with strangers. He later admitted the survey was about finances, apologised for the intrusion and wished me good night before hanging up.
During a market research call they discussed topics like antibiotics and politics, and everything seemed perfectly normal throughout.
