I recieved a call from this number, the person on the other end knew my name and adress, and then proceded to mention somthing about my washing machine insurence, which I dont have, I told him my parents handle that sort of thing, and he just said ok and hung up, hopefully knowing my details wont lead to me getting scammed by them

This person addressed me by my name and stated they were calling about a washing machine that was no longer under warranty. I told them they had the wrong person and ended the call. After looking up the number, I'm quite certain it was a scam.

There is a strong likelihood that these individuals are attempting to scam people
They stated it was Homesure Direct insurance for my over 5-year-old washing machine, which is out of warranty. They knew my name and address but asked for the manufacturer. When I said I didn't know, they guessed it was Zanussi. They proposed ongoing insurance for £9 a month and to send confirmation, but I interrupted to say I hadn't purchased the appliance (it came with a new build) and had no policy with them. When I requested details to be sent via email or post, they refused, so I hung up.

Heute angerufen und behauptet, meine Waschmaschinenversicherung sei abgelaufen. Er konnte den Namen seiner Firma nicht nennen, was wohl Absicht war. Dann sagte er, meine Waschmaschine sei über ein Jahr alt und daher „gesetzlich ungültig“. Völliger Unsinn. Ich habe eine automatische 10-Jahres-Garantie auf den Motor und eine verlängerte Garantie. Ich brauche keine spezielle Versicherung dafür. Er wollte, dass ich die Versicherung erneuere, und fragte, wann ich sie gekauft habe. Ich ignorierte die Frage und fragte, welches Modell es sei. Er sagte, er wisse es nicht, er hätte nur eine Liste, brauche aber meine Daten. Ich habe ihn unterbrochen, und nach dem, was ich ihm sagte, werde ich wohl keine Weihnachtskarte bekommen.
