A call was made regarding in-home eye tests for individuals with mobility issues, which seemed like a new and particularly low scam tactic.
On 16/1/25, I recieved a call from an Asian call centre, who asked for me by name, and my partner answered, the caller was reading from a script and wouldnt let him pass the phone to me, when he finaly did, she mentioned something about eye tests for people with mobility issues, but I told her I already have a regular eye test scheduled for later this year, and hung up, this is definatly a scam, and they must be getting our personal informations from somewhere
These deceitful scammers called, pretending to be from the NHS. I told them exactly where to go and hung up. Seeing others’ comments here, I’m glad people are becoming aware of their tricks. These fraudsters need to be stopped.
The caller offered free home eye tests through the NHS, but I declined, having recently undergone eye tests, and ended the call.

When I answered, the caller didn’t respond for a few seconds. I could hear a noisy call centre in the background. After my third ‘hello,’ a man with an Asian accent replied, addressed me by name, and claimed to be from Gamma Medical. He said they work with the NHS to arrange free eye tests. Clearly a scam.
We got a call from a clinic, or so they claimed, but we werent expecting any call so we just disconnected it
A request was made to speak with my husband, but upon questioning the caller's identity, the response was vague, stating only 'outside clinic', which seemed nonsensical, prompting me to end the call.
They called my 86-year-old mother, claiming to be from a clinic. They asked for my late father by name, who passed away four years ago. My mother told them to leave her alone.

Generally, I avoid answering unkown numbers and upon checking this one, I found it to be associated with Gamma Telecom Holdings Ltd, with sufficient evidence to sugest a cold call or scam, so I have now blocked it, and I wonder when the Goverment will take action against these crooks, and implement the tecnology used by countries like the USA to block nuisance calls
