Silent call, but when I rang back it said press 9 to opt out of future calls. Sketchy and untrustworthy. Don't bother.

A woman with an Indian accent, claiming to represent the UK benefits department, contacted me to discuss boilers, loft insulation, and benefit recipients in my household.
During my holiday, I received a call from this number on 25 June; the speaker seemed unaware that the dial tone was not from the UK and inquired about a recent home purchase, but their vagueness raised suspicions, leading me to hang up.
After greeting them, they abruptly ended the call!
It is concerning that these foreign individuals can disguise their calls to appear as though they originate from the UK, yet BT seems to take no action
During a call from this number, a conversation about the cricket match between New Zealand and Pakistan led to a discussion about boilers and loft insulation, making for a surprisingly pleasant interaction.
The call was met with silence, prompting me to hang up immediately.

An Asian man claimed to be from the benefits department and seemed alarmingly familiar with my name, despite the fact that I do not receive benefits. Consequently, I blocked the number.
