Received two attempts; the callers claimed to be from Eon, reciting an account reference and our postcode. After I mentioned we ignore energy‑related calls because of rampant scams, they disconnected.

Opinia expertului
Reports indicate callers frequently impersonate energy suppliers such as Eon, British Gas, or SSE to discuss price increases or contract updates. They often know basic details like postcodes or meter numbers but falter under scrutiny, hanging up when challenged. This pattern screams energy scam, preying on business owners or households worried about bills. Never share personal info or agree to changes over unsolicited calls—legitimate firms won't pressure you like this. Block the number, report to your actual supplier and Action Fraud, and consider registering with the Telephone Preference Service to cut down on such nuisances. Stay vigilant; these pests multiply if ignored.

Clearly a scam – the line dropped as soon as I picked up. Wonder if others get the same treatment.
My energy provider informed me that they are increasing charges, but provided no details beyond what's publicly available. I reported the block to the appropriate supplier.
Two calls were made this morning attempting to speak with the business owner about energy rates – a clear scam, be cautious!
Typical “Good morning sir, how are you?” greeting – a scam.
Avoid this BT scam!
Numerous calls from this number, plus five to six consecutive rings from unknown firms, all knowing my meter reference, name and postcode – clearly an energy scam.
Someone pretending to be SSE asked about satisfaction with the bill for “Door Number X” and warned of rising rates – obviously a scam.
They claimed to represent British Gas Lite, yet our business uses only the online service – they never call. Pure scam.
Watch out for this number and 01827700777 – both called today pretending to be from British Gas Lite about product caps, wanting to speak to the owner. The caller later admitted it was him, saying they sometimes use different numbers. That was a lie; after a brief exchange I hung up.
This turned out to be a scam after I’d just signed a fixed contract with Eon for my business; a caller pretended to be from EON, claimed they were doubling my standing charge and kilowatt price, asked for my broker’s name, and I told them to go away – if they were genuine they’d have known the details. Bloody pain in the arse.
They pretended to be from NG Power; when I questioned the ruse, they hung up – a total scam.
Someone pretended to be from British Gas; when I mentioned the owner wasn’t present, they abruptly hung up – a clear red flag. We keep blocking them, yet they multiply like rabbits.
When a bloke claimed to be from Eon, I sarcastically asked if he wanted my passwords, bank details and even offered £5k – he hung up, another scammer.
I received a call today and wasn’t convinced it was from my engine supplier, even though I’m under contract. When I asked for a number to call back, they hung up.
The caller mentioned my supplier and name but lacked account details; after recognizing an ongoing complaint with my energy provider I called him out as a fraud, and he responded with profanity.
They tried to trick me by using my business name and pretending to be British Gas Lite about price‑cap changes; after confirming my contract status with the actual provider, I realized it was a scam.
The caller was attempting an energy‑related scam.
The call claimed there were increases in electricity and gas prices – a scam.
The caller claimed to be from my energy supplier, saying the price cap was rising and I needed to agree to update my contract. When I mentioned my fixed‑price deal, they got agitated and kept repeating the same script over several calls.
