A call pretended to be from our energy provider, asking for the accounts department; after we pressed, they said British Gas, which we don’t use, so we ended the call. Within half a minute, the same number rang again, again claiming to represent an energy supplier and wanting to speak to accounts, but this time they quoted a different company. We told them it was a scam and hung up.
Posing as British Gas, they refused to email their query to accounts, insisting they were in training and must speak by phone—clearly a scam.
