Calls arrive each morning around 9:30 am, becoming increasingly irritating. I requested today that they cease contacting me.
Two calls came in today from this number; I didn’t answer since I didn’t recognise it. A lookup here suggested it’s an E.On Next scam, and E.On confirmed they never contacted me. I’ve now blocked the number.
There was a voice on the line, but it was so faint I couldn’t make out anything, so I hung up.
The caller said they were from Eon and performed the usual security checks—name, address, postcode—then confirmed my direct debit amount, outstanding balance, meter status and emailed me the energy‑saving tips they mentioned. I was wary of a scam, but they never asked for anything unusual, and post‑call verification with Eon suggests the call was legitimate.
The caller claimed to be from EON, spoke with a heavy accent that was hard to follow, requested my full name, which raised suspicion before he thanked me and we ended the call.
After contacting Eon Next, they confirmed the number belongs to them but insisted they wouldn't request personal details, leaving me baffled and prompting a supplier switch. They called about an alleged outstanding bill from last night, demanding payment within seven days, which heightened my anxiety before surgery as a man with a faint Indian accent pressured me to settle over the phone despite my existing direct debit, making the whole situation feel both legitimate and distasteful.
Calls were confirmed by EON, yet they seemed highly suspicious, demanding all my data before explaining the issue. Apparently EON’s new collection policy uses a debt collector with a poor grasp of English.
Potential fraud – the caller claimed to be from Eon Next.
After reaching out to E.ON Next about the number, they confirmed it’s a scam impersonating their service.
Looks like an Eon scam.
Definitely a scam—do not provide any personal information; it’s a guaranteed fraud.
The caller said they were from EON Next, sounded like a call‑centre representative, asked for my name and address, and when I requested proof they simply said “have a nice day” and hung up; I reported it to EON, who confirmed the number isn’t theirs.
If this number rings, it’s a debt recovery line for E.On Next. The caller knew the exact amount I owed and the date my direct debit failed, which proves it wasn’t a generic scam. What irritated me was that they kept calling even after I spoke with customer services. Rest assured, E.On does operate a call centre in Nottingham.
Warning: scam—do not provide any personal details.
This isn't a scam; the caller was representing EON Next.
Persistent unknown number that appears to be a scam and is not recognised.
Reported as an Eon scam call.
They claimed to be from eon.next and wanted to verify my account details. When I asked them to read back the information they had, they told me to call back later. I blocked the number.
Multiple calls alleged to be from EON Next; after contacting EON directly, they confirmed it’s a utilities scam number and advised blocking it.
This number is actually the Eon.next debt recovery line, a woman called me and asked for my name, date of birth, and adress, and set up a direct debit, i confirmed it with the normal Eon number and they said it was legit, so this is not a scam, definately
Received a second call from this number, claiming to be from EON. They knew my name and insisted on security checks, but I refused until they explained the purpose. Clearly a scam, as my app shows no account issues.
Further to another comment mentioning a call centre in South Africa, the caller had a South African accent, reinforcing suspicions of a scam - it is advisable to contact the company directly using the official app or phone number provided on the bill to ensure safety.
Fraudulent activity alert - never share personal information. Verify E.ON's contact details through official channels only. Persistent calls originate from offshore operations, employing identical deceptive recordings daily.
Today marked the first instance of an unwanted call from a Nottingham number
The caller claimed I had an outstanding bill of £3,000 from Eon, but I disputed the claim and threatened to report them to the police, as it seems like a disgraceful scam.
This is definitely Eon; I just called their main number, 0808 501 5200, and reached what I believe is their South Africa office to verify it. It is not a scam.
After investigation, it appears that this number belongs to Eon and is not a scam
A scam is being operated from this number, likely a phishing attempt.
The caller claimed to be from eON and immediately asked for Security Questions. They promised to confirm their identity via email, but predictably, they didn’t. Avoid this number at all costs.
