It’s clear that the number +19125491938 is a hotbed of scam activity, with callers often posing as debt collectors or legal representatives. They frequently use spoofed local numbers to trick recipients into answering, leaving messages about pending matters or old debts that need to be resolved. The callers often ask for sensitive information like the last four digits of your Social Security number and your date of birth, which are classic red flags for identity theft. If you receive such a call, the best advice is to ignore it and never call back. Instead, report the number to the FTC. If the call is about a legitimate debt, contact the creditor directly using a verified number. Stay vigilant and protect your personal information at all costs.

I've received multiple calls of this nature, and it's becoming increasingly frustrating.

Apparently, I'm not alone in receiving calls from a spoofed number, prompting me to call back a number in the 912 area code, which led to an automated attendant with no company identification, and a voicemail about a 'pending matter' that seemed suspiciously illegitimate.

It's unnecessary to wait for a prolonged period to realize that this is a scam; they attempt to collect debts that are non-existent. To avoid such scams, it's advisable to ignore calls from unrecognized numbers and never return calls to unknown numbers. If you receive a call regarding your credit card or bank account, it's best to contact the number listed on your card rather than the one provided in the message.
