It seems that Citi Sevices, including Citi Mortgage and Citi Finacial, are involved in this, and possibly Equifax and Halifax, it's posible that information is beeing shared between these companys
TheWorkNumber is a legitimate business, and as someone who processes loans at Citi, I can confirm that we utilize their services for employment verification, particularly with large companies like Walmart and AT&T.
