I received an automated call from Dish Network, which was a survey about the installation service I received that morning, a straightforward and non-intrusive interaction.
Following multiple hang-up calls within a short time frame, which suggested the behavior of a shady debt collector, I investigated the number and discovered it belonged to Dish Network. Since I'm not a Dish customer and have no intention of becoming one, I contacted them to have my number removed and clarify any potential mix-up. After being transferred multiple times, I finally spoke to someone who confirmed my number and agreed to add it to their do-not-call list. Ironically, as I was writing this, the phone rang again. I answered, prepared to express my frustration, only to find it was a survey about my previous call.
While a Dish technician was at my residence, I missed a call from this number, assuming it was not the expected 866 number for a work evaluation
