Apparently, this is the third attempt to convince me to replace my existing Dish hardware due to a supposed phase-out, which is clearly a scam.
Given the age of my equipment, I was almost deceived. Luckily, I decided to look up this number.
The caller left a message requesting equipment return, despite my upgrade and prior verification from Dish in September.
A request was made to return equipment that had already been returned in March 2023, as verified in a call received in September.
No voicemail was left, which sugests it was an unsolicted call.
A man's call led to a long, involved story that ultimately resulted in the hacking of our DISH account, with an attempt to charge a fee to restore service.
The call appears to be an automated message from DISH, stating that a technician can be sent to check the equipment due to it not functioning optimally.
An automated recording plays upon answering, stating that my dish signal requires attention from a service technician or installer.
