Apparently, a letter arrived in my mailbox with instructions to call this number regarding a pending check. Following some research on this site and googling the numerous lawsuits lost by Wells Fargo over the past two years, I decided to take a chance. It seems that Wells Fargo was involved in some questionable activities between 2002 and 2017. As another reviewer suggested, searching for "Wells Fargo remediation" yields some useful information. The representative I spoke to only requested information that was already on the sheet, along with the last four digits of my social security number or birthdate.
They tell me I have a Wells Fargo Bank account, but that a lie, and they use my old last name

I dont think this is a scam, I called the customer number on my account and talked to the banker, he said they are doing somthing with older accounts
Initially skeptical of the letter and provided number, I contacted Wells Fargo support using the number on their website and confirmed that it was legitimate, related to old savings accounts from 2002-2010.
I recieved a similiar letter, stating a check was sent but not deposited, and to cash it or call to have it reissued, the catch is the last 4 digits of the account dont match my wells account, its a scam.

This group seems to be a scam, they sent me a legit looking document with a Portland OR PO BOX, but when I called them I relized the guy was a fake, I didnt give him any informations, I knew it was a scam from the start.
I contacted the number on Wells Fargos website and explained the situation, they told me the letter was legit and the number 855-329-9604 is real, so aparently the peoples saying its a scam are wrong
