I have recieved multiple calls from the Weinberg Mediation Group, stating I am under investigation, however I beleive this may be a scam as I have no connection to NY, the internet sugjests they are a debt collection agency

A voicemail was left, but upon returning the call, it became clear that the caller was seeking a different individual
Following a message from this number, I returned the call and was informed that they were attempting to contact a Robert Bagley, who allegedly provided them with my number, although I have no connection to this individual; I requested that my number be removed from their list to avoid further harassment.
I'm so glad I googled Wineburg Mediatiin, was going to call them back, not gonna waste my time now...

It's no surprise that everyone has received the same message, given the recent credit agency scandal. Court notifications are typically sent via mail, not threatening phone calls from out-of-state numbers. The fact that this number is making such calls is suspicious.
Weinberg Mediators contacted me, claiming to be representing a creditor and stating that I had taken out a loan, although they had some correct information, the majority of their claims were false, and they harassed my wife.
Despite claiming to be investigating my social security number for tax purposes, the IRS confirmed that these threatening calls are indeed a scam, originating from different numbers.
