Purportedly, the caller represents a review team at RBC, encouraging recipients to contact the number on their credit card to discuss transferring their balance to a lower interest rate, but without requesting personal information, raising suspicions that the call may incur additional fees and is designed to keep the caller on the line, thereby incurring charges.
Scam alert: fake Royal Bank review team call - +1 844-299-6977 ((844) 299-6977)

Expert Opinion
They say they're from a Royal Bank review team, yet the call feels more like a classic impersonation scam. The script often mentions balance transfers or debt relief without asking for personal details, which is a common red flag. Verify the caller by hanging up and calling the official bank number found on your card or statement. Never trust a voicemail that claims a foreign accent or offers a callback number you haven't requested. If you suspect a scam, report the number to your carrier and to the bank's fraud department. Stay skeptical and keep your financial info safe.
