The texts mimic the look of official SSA communications and include a link to https://secure.ssa.gov/RIL, but the number is not owned by the Social Security Administration. Recipients should treat any unsolicited link as phishing and never enter personal data. Verify alerts by logging directly onto www.ssa.gov or calling the official SSA helpline. Block the sender, report the incident to the FTC and to SSA’s fraud‑prevention team, and educate friends about the personal data risk.

Clearly this was a scam that i avoided, recieving a text with a link to my account which i didnt use, instead i logged in thru my laptop on a secure website

These individuals are impersonating Metro by T-Mobile, seeking extensive personal information, and should be prosecuted; they are malicious and untrustworthy.
Impersonation of Metro by T Mobile has been reported by this individual.
