The texts mimic the look of official SSA communications and include a link to https://secure.ssa.gov/RIL, but the number is not owned by the Social Security Administration. Recipients should treat any unsolicited link as phishing and never enter personal data. Verify alerts by logging directly onto www.ssa.gov or calling the official SSA helpline. Block the sender, report the incident to the FTC and to SSA’s fraud‑prevention team, and educate friends about the personal data risk.

I received a text regarding setting up an account for SSA.
On October 15, 2020, at 9:07 a.m. ET, I received a text message from this number, instructing me to log in to my account to read the message.

I recieved a text message claiming to be social security, with a link to ssa.gov, look like a scam
This looks very oficial & contain a link to supposedly mySocialSecuirty, but I almost fell for it, when I remembred they will always/only contact you via the mail on those 1960-style form letters.
