Picture this: a robotic voicemail claims to be from Anthem, uses your name and urges you to call back for “important information.” In reality, the call is likely a spoofed scam designed to harvest personal data. Verify the caller by hanging up and dialing the official number on your insurance card or website. Never share passwords, Social Security numbers, or payment info over a callback number you didn’t initiate. Block the offending number in your phone settings and add it to any carrier‑provided spam filter. Finally, report the incident to the FTC and to Anthem’s fraud department so they can investigate and warn other members.
Following a similar experience on February 26, it is recommended to contact Anthem using the number provided on the insurance card and avoid returning calls of this nature.
I recieved an automated cal from anthem, they said my name and had some importint information, but i didnt cal them back
On Sunday, I received a robotic message from a caller claiming to be from Anthem
A voicemail was left claiming to be from Anthem, but it sounded robotic and only mentioned my name, which raised some suspisions, especialy since Anthem customer service is closed on weekends.
On a saturday, i got a call from a robotic voice claiming to be from "Anthem", asking for my adult son, it was obvious a scam.
Apparently, the caller claimed to be from Anthem, but it's suspicious since Anthem doesn't typically make calls to people, and now I'm unsure if they were genuinely from our medical insurance.
