Expert Opinion
Clearly, these calls aren't legitimate Citi outreach. Callers repeatedly claim to represent Citi or a related credit‑card brand, demand personal data, and refuse to leave messages, which matches common debt‑collection scams. Never share your Social Security number, birthdate, or account details to an unsolicited caller. Hang up, block the number on your phone and with your carrier, and file a complaint with the FTC or your state’s consumer protection agency. If you actually owe a Citi balance, contact the bank directly using the number on your statement—not the one that called you. Keep a log of call times for any future reports.
