Expert Opinion
If you see a call showing Capital One on your screen, treat it with suspicion. Scammers love to spoof big‑brand IDs to grab your personal or credit‑card info. Never press numbers, share your Social Security, or confirm any account details on a call you didn’t initiate. Hang up, then call the official number on the back of your card or log into your account online to verify. Use your phone’s block feature and report the number to the FTC or your carrier’s fraud department. Keeping a record of the call time and any recorded message can help authorities track these spoofing scams.
