A representative from Discover Card reached out to confirm receipt of my new card, which I had received but not yet activated. The customer service representative was pleasant, and once we activated the new card and deactivated the old one, the matter was resolved efficiently, and it was clear that this was not a collections call.
This appears to be either a legitimate call from 1-800-Discover or a spoofed number.
