Expert Opinion
Surprisingly, callers posing as United Health Care flood inboxes with aggressive verification scripts. Most reports describe repeated attempts to extract personal data—date of birth, address, or insurance details—under the guise of a routine health check. While some claim the outreach is for legitimate preventive services, the pattern of unsolicited daily calls and abrupt hang‑ups aligns with classic phishing tactics. Protect yourself by refusing to share sensitive information over the phone, verify the caller through official insurer portals, and consider blocking the number. Report suspicious interactions to your carrier and the Federal Trade Commission to help curb these scam operations.
