Noticably, the caller presented a Scotiabank ID, requesting my name, which I declined to provide. Informing him the number was a cell phone and not a Scotiabank number, I intentionaly told him I would contact my branch to verify my account. He remarked that he didnt mention being from Scotiabank, however the ID clearly indacated it. I subsequenly contacted Scotiabank and reported this incident, suspecting the number had been comprimised by scamers.
When I answered, I asked the caller for their branch number, and he claimed to be calling from the back office, prompting me to make a humorous comparison, and it's crucial to remember that scammers may exploit the word 'yes' in voice recognition technology for certain banks
