Late last night a surge of robocalls bearing the +1‑614‑548‑8229 number has been reported across several forums. Callers claim a recent charge of $399‑$799 for bogus tech‑support services and pressure recipients to verify credit‑card details. These scam calls typically use a synthetic voice or a foreign‑accent operator and attempt to harvest personal data. Best practice is to hang up immediately, never provide card numbers, and block the caller through your carrier or a call‑filter app. Report the incident to the FTC’s complaint portal and to your card issuer to dispute any unauthorized charge.
