I received a text message from this number, claiming to be from the Mediation Department and threatening to freeze my assets. The representative refused to provide company information and hung up when I questioned the legitimacy of the call. It's clear that this is a scam.

Expert Opinion
Like a fox in a henhouse, these messages slip into your inbox pretending to be official mediators. They harvest personal data, then spin urgency into a demand for a call or payment. The pattern is consistent: a familiar name, a fake department, and a toll‑free number that redirects you to a fraud ring. If you get a text from an unknown "Mediation Department" urging you to call a number, do not reply or click any links. Hang up, block the sender, and verify the claim through a known, official channel. Report the number to your carrier and file a complaint with the FTC to help curb the scam.
