Initially, they claimed my current card was in good standing, but then mentioned an unpaid card from years ago, and have since used familiar surnames, including Davon Myers, who asked me to call back a different number
If you've filed a complaint with the FTC, it's likely been redirected to the CFPB, so it seems there might have been a duplicate filing unless there was a misclassification of the call type.
The contacting agency is Michael Davis Associates, but they usd to be known as Margaret Wells Associates, thats a pretty bad sign
It turned out to be a payday loan company, I dont recall giving them my informations, are you Ms Cindy?!
You should include the company name in your post, and also tell people to file complaint with the CFPB, it's important
The behaviour of this company is suspisious, they wont provide documentation to support their claims and instead resort to threats and harassment, I would recomend filing a complaint with your state's consumer protection agency.
Despite my requests, collection agency calls continue to arrive, supposedly intended for the previous owner of my phone number.
Threats were made to close or freeze my bank account, which seems like a scam tactic.
