These calls are classic prize‑win scams, and the repeated use of a name like James Cannon is a red flag. Never share personal or financial details, especially credit‑card numbers, to claim a prize you never entered. Hang up, block the number, and report it to the FTC or your phone carrier. If you’ve already given info, monitor your accounts for unauthorized activity and consider a fraud alert. Keep a log of calls and share it with community forums to warn others. Staying skeptical and protecting your data are the best defenses against these bogus sweepstakes schemes.
